For when Musalsal night turns into movie night. These aren’t your salt of the earth popcorn. Make it fresh by popping your own kernels then make it delicious by adding za’atar.

Ingredients: 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, ½ cup popcorn kernels, Salt, to taste, Za’atar

    • Recipe:

      1. Combine oil and a few popcorn kernels in a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Cover the pot and wait for the kernels to pop after a few minutes.

      2. Once the kernels pop, turn off the burner, remove the pot from the heat and pour in the remaining popcorn kernels. Cover the pan again, and give the pot a good shake to spread the kernels evenly.

      3. Put the pan back onto the burner at medium heat, occasionally gently shaking the pot to encourage the kernels to cook evenly. Once the kernels start popping, open the lid slightly to allow steam to escape.

      4. Continue cooking until the popping sound slows to about one pop every few seconds.

      5. Remove the lid and pour the popcorn into your serving bowl. Sprinkle the popcorn with a pinch of salt and many pinches of za’atar to taste.

      6. Sahtain :)
